Brighton and Hove -
The City by the Sea
Britain has a long lasting love of seaside towns and every area has its own famous favourites. One of the things that sets Brighton apart is that it officially became a city in 2000, after being granted that status by Queen Elizabeth II.
Actually it's the city of Brighton and Hove, boarded on one side by the English Channel and to the north by the South Downs National Park.
This year it has been named as one of Time Out's '50 Best Cities in the World for 2025', featuring locations that are deemed to be "the world's most exciting cities to visit in 2025, where world-class culture, great food and exciting nightlife can be found on every corner". The choices are also meant to "reflect the places where locals feel most at home."
Living in B&H
As one of the leading estate agents in Brighton and Hove we know why so many people love our city. Of course it appeals to day-trippers and holidaymakers but it also means a great deal to around 278,000 people who live here.
Demand for homes here is always high and the property market
is very active. For sellers that is a double-sided coin - there will always be
plenty of potential buyers, but there is also a lot of competition from other
sellers too.
For buyers there is always a great selection of different
types of properties on the market, from modern city-centre apartments to
semi-suburban period homes that are still only a short distance from the sea.
With well established high performing schools, plenty of open green spaces, the South downs just a couple of miles away and an historic seafront, it's no wonder that so many young families choose to base themselves here.
Working life
In Brighton there are many different opportunities for work,
far more than many other coastal locations around the country.
There is a diverse and energetic tech sector, a wide-ranging educational sector based around the needs of the large student population, and of course healthy tourist and cultural sectors too.
With transport links that mean a train journey to the centre
of the capital can be as fast as getting from one side of London to the other,
employment opportunities are certainly not limited to staying local.
Quality of life
The Time Out listing highlights that often intangible
concept of 'quality of life'. Brighton and Hove has everything from high end
fine dining through to arts venues such as The Dome, with plenty of options for
all age brackets and budgets.
We've been helping people find their home in our city by the sea for more than 25 years. Director
Paul Wilkinson was born and raised here and has lived and worked across the city from Hove to Woodingdean. We've been recognised as one of the top 500 UK estate agencies by The Best Estate Agent Guide for 2025, having been judged against more than 13,000 competitors.
Whether it involves helping you get a first foot on the
property ladder, to upsize or downsize, to move from a different town or city -
we work with people who are making life-changing decisions everyday and it's an
honour to play a part in that process.
