David Maslen M.N.A.E.A. - Director
David is the driving force behind Maslen Estate Agents and is passionate about spearheading an independent agency that champions innovation and customer service. Having worked for one of the largest corporate agencies in the country, he established Maslen Estate Agents in 1999 with a vision of an organisation ethos of honesty and integrity, where the customer always comes first.
With an unrivalled knowledge of the local housing market, David has successfully grown the business with four branches across the city. He is still hands on and takes an active role in his staff's development to ensure standards are upheld. David is also treasurer of the Brighton & Hove Estate Agents Association.
James Fitzsimons Cert PFS CII CeMAP - Independent Mortgage Advisor
James is our resident mortgage expert. He advises customers on all aspects of taking a mortgage, including new mortgages to purchase a property, re-mortgaging to release equity from the value of their home or getting a better deal than their existing mortgage.
He can also advise on life assurance, critical illness policies, mortgage protection policies, and buildings/contents insurance. He has 10 years experience in the Financial Services industry having worked for a variety of banks, insurance companies and auditors.
James is FPC (Financial Planning Certificate) and CeMap (Certificate in Mortgage Advice & Practice) qualified.
Andrew Mercer M.N.A.E.A. - Trainee Negotiator
Joining Maslen Estate Agents straight from school back in 2004, Andrew is now a Member of the National Association of Estate Agents having passed all four of the exams, as well as his NVQ level 3. His responsibilities include writing up property details, showing round prospective buyers and supporting the senior staff. Andrew is also responsible for co-ordinating feedback on all viewings and ensuring it is conveyed to the client. He gets a real sense of achievement from helping people move and prides himself on exemplary service.
Ben Errington - Trainee Negotiator
Ben is the latest member of the Maslen team having joined in July 2007. He is a recent graduate from Oxford Brookes University, where he studied marketing management, and is embracing the challenges of being a good estate agent.
Keen to learn, Ben has already started his in-house training programme and is working towards National Association of Estate Agents membership. The buzz of helping people move and variety of each day attracted Ben to estate agency and he is a welcome addition to the Lewes Road office.
Janette Burchett - Office co-ordinator, Lewes Road
At the Lewes Road office since 2004, Janette is responsible for all administration and supporting David and the sales team. With over 12 years industry experience, Janette trains new administrative staff and is invaluable to the team for her secretarial support.
