Ben Hawley M.N.A.E.A. - Manager

Ben took over managing the Lewes Road office in February 2012, having originally joined the team ten years earlier as a Trainee Negotiator. He has continually proved himself and progressed to his first manager role in 2008 in Woodingdean. Under his leadership the Woodingdean office thrived, with Ben regularly winning our internal competition for best customer service. Ben will be with you every step of the way from the initial valuation to completion of your sale. Determined to defy the classic stereotype of estate agents, he is down-to-earth, approachable and dedicated to providing the best service possible.

Ben has an NVQ level 3 in Estate Agency and passed all four of the National Association of Estate Agents Technical Award exams in February 2006.

Martin Timms - Senior Negotiator

Martin has been with the company since July 2014. He started his first job in estate agency back in 2001 and has held senior roles in Surrey, Kent and South London. As a very experienced negotiator he is responsible for providing property valuations, conducting viewings and securing and progressing sales. He is also responsible for coaching junior members of the team and ensuring standards are maintained and improved.  

Martin went into estate agency straight after university and has loved the variety and satisfaction of helping people move from day one. He will be studying towards the National Association of Estate Agents Technical Award in 2015. 

Sam Neal - Junior Negotiator

Sam originally joined Maslen Estate Agents as an apprentice in August 2011. Consistently proving himself a valuable member of the team, he was promoted to a Trainee Negotiator in May 2013 and then again to a Junior Negotiator in August 2014. He is responsible for booking valuations and viewings, measuring up properties, conducting viewings, liaising with builders and surveyors and writing up property details.  

Sam has an NVQ Level 2 in Property Services and will study for his National Association of Estate Agents Technical Award in 2015. Interested in Brighton property and architecture from an early age, Sam enjoys seeing a range of properties across the city and helping people to find their dream home.

Janette Burchett M.N.A.E.A. - Senior Office Co-ordinator

With a long-standing interest in property, Janette has been with Maslen Estate Agents since March 2004. As our most experienced Office Co-ordinator with over fifteen years industry experience, she is responsible for training all new administrative staff and enjoys providing ongoing guidance to the other Office Co-ordinators in the company. She also ensures the smooth-running of the Lewes Road office and provides essential secretarial support to David and the sales team. She achieved her National Association of Estate Agents Technical Award in October 2009.

Janette was promoted to Senior Office Co-ordinator in October 2011

William Slingsby - Apprentice

William joined the team in June 2014, following the completion of his Business A Level and Young Enterprise Award in just one year at Varndean College. His main duties are booking property viewings and then preparing the keys and property details for the viewings, answering the phones and providing administrative support to the team. 

He chose estate agency because he wanted a career where he can progress and work his way up the ladder, as well as his interest in property. Bright and hard-working, William enjoys being part of the team and the ethos of the company to support and nurture new talent. As part of his apprenticeship he is studying towards an NVQ Level 3 in Property Services.

Paula Carter - Sales Co-ordinator

Paula became Maslen Estate Agent’s first dedicated Sales Co-ordinator in July 2014. Based in the Hove office, she works across the company with each of the office managers and Director David Maslen to support the process once a sale has been agreed. It is her responsibility to manage the day-to-day liaison with solicitors, vendors, purchasers and other estate agents to keep the process flowing and all parties up to date, under the close supervision of the manager handling the sale. 

Paula has been in the property industry for over 20 years, working in Sussex, Kent and South London. Her experience, quick-thinking and tenacity make her ideal for the job.

Graham Griffin CeMAP - Independent Mortgage Advisor

Graham is responsible for delivering independent mortgage advice to clients across our four city branches. Joining the Company in September 2009 and with over 30 years experience in financial services, he still takes real care and joy in finding people the right mortgages, life cover and buildings and contents insurance. He prides himself on his passion, professionalism and building long-term relationships with his clients. Graham has been CeMap qualified for over 10 years.

Louise Lewis - Financial Services Administrator

Louise is based in the Lewes Road office, supporting Graham Griffin CeMAP, our Independent Mortgage Advisor. It is her responsibility to ensure all compliance paperwork is completed and up to date and to manage the client files, as well as liaising with clients and lenders helping to progress mortgage applications. 

She is an extremely experienced administrator with over 22 years as a secretary and PA, predominantly in the public sector.
